...who doesn't!? Or, at least, what parent doesn't for their child =)
Christmas is around the corner, I'm getting the last details done on my assignment, Christmas cards and presents almost done... home made, like the "advents lysestake" (some candel thing I have no idea what is called in English!) AND.....
I have no Christmas spirit!!! Maybe I will get the feeling when I see my Emily as Lucia (Norwegian/Nordic(?)) and we go to see The Nutcracker like we did last year, both on the 13th =)
But if I shall remain in the spirit i might have to stop reading news... three weeks, it should be possible?! Thou, not right closing your eyes... But how is it possible to eat and feast, celebrate a birthday (or just have a time of joy) while reading about massacres and starvaition, hatred, sex and materalistic goods dressed in Christmas, singing "dreaming of a white Christmas"!
I will probably, like many in the lucky "rich" part of the world, and up enjoying this season in the end (at least take part in Emilys' joy)! I will appreciate quality time with my family and friends....
Still, right now.... I feel the spirit is far away =(
Now, somehow I found this quote, and it feels good and right =) What should Christmas be if not a time for peace!
Agnes M. Pharo:
What is Christmas? It is tenderness for the past, courage for the present, hope for the future. It is a fervent wish that every cup may overflow with blessings rich and eternal, and that every path may lead to peace.
